Long time ago since i wrote a post. But 5' after watching the new site WWW.CATALONIAVOTES.EU ,created by Catalan Government with money of all catalans, urged me to do so. Foreigners watching this site should be aware of next lies (grouped by chapters).

"Though Catalonia lost its independence in 1714"-> false, Catalonia never was independent (nor Kingdom, Country, State...), in fact was partner on the creation of Spain much before, as for Marca Hispanica, Tarraco, Catholic Kings,... But this seems to ashame the saloon-nationalists dedicated to reinvent the history whilst being payed with public funds having their wide stomachs fed. Never was any Catalan Independence War as for Mexico, EUA, Ireland, Scotland... In fact, in 1714 Catalonia fought to impose his own Spanish King. Hilarious?

The proclamation of the Catalan Republic was in fact 'within the Spanish Republic' in same words of Francesc Macià (catalan president). It was completely theatrical meaning catalan people didn't follow. Also 3 years later happened the same proclamation 'inside Spanish Republic' but now by Lluis Companys in 1934. Identic result: zero public support demonstrations. People ignoring that from their houses listening the news from the radio. The result was catalan leaders escaping through the sewers after doing the ridicule when were seized by the military, commanded by a really honor catalan man-of-law called Domingo Batet. Is this the kind of nation that wants to be independent??

Franco was funded and supported mostly by catalan industrialists (among other Spanish rich people as catalan-speaking March) as well as former catalan president Francesc Cambó, to fight against anarchists, as was done several years before funding another dictator with same results: Primo de Rivera. They repit the history knowing beforehand the consequences. The silly thing is these rich sponsors belonged to parties such Liga Regionalista, the predecessors of Convergencia i Unió, the same party that now is pushing for the referendum and claiming against Franco!!! They are ashamed about their past behaviour, and now try to launder their roots cowardly. The repression during Franco in fact was among Catalans themselves, rich and poors, not among Spain and Catalonia.
Catalonia was one of the most benefited regions during the dictatorship (socially and economically), on contrary Extremadura and Andalucia who really suffered the slaughter on the hardest years, were the worst. Lluis Companys certainly was sadly caught in France and executed, but he also ordered execution of lot of people during his rule, as general Goded. In fact, during Companys rule, were slaughtered more catalans (thousands in several months) than during Franco rule on several years. Orwell explains very well which kind of dictatorship 'Omage to Catalonia' was during Companys. Catholic genocide in other words.
Catalan language was not banned (no writen statement shows that), in fact, for these times, catalan was used as the peasant language unlike Castilian, the language of the catalan elites, but not for imposition as for choice. Catalan logically could not be used to speak with the Guardia Civil, but everybody in their homes spoke whatever they wanted. People on these years was concerned in how to feed themselves, not in language preferences.

Tarradellas and Catalan institutions returned thanks to Spanish President Suarez, in a sign of tolerance and opening. Spanish Constitution (a real referendum) was voted and approved by most of the catalans, unlike vasque people that voted against.

In fact, Spanish is being banned from the small shops, and reduce to zero in education from long time ago. Note that in a typical school timetable Catalan is used always as main language (immersion +-30 hours), plus 4 hours per week of grammar, whilst Spanish is reduced to 2 hours per week and used in the gymnastics class. English suffers same discrimination as Spanish, denoting the degree of inculture that the nationalistm provide to our children. Teaching 95% in Catalan means books, publishing house, teachers etc catalans not being challenged by outside competitors, so logically closer to the nationalist cause. Is it freedom? It is lobbying and protectionism. The last teacher that fought against that received a shot on the leg (Manifesto 2300) by nationalist terrorist organization Terra Lliure.
Well, there are tons of lies on that site that i will explain when i have more time (as nobody funds me as these public feeded nationalists sites/organizations/events). Notice one funny detail of all these nationalist pantomime:
The major public catalan television TV3 dedicates most of its time to broadcast the benefits of the referendum and the 'Yes' and laugh on the dissidents using comedy shows with children as target: The castilians are the poor, ugly, funny, waiters, dirty, slackers, flamenco dancers while the catalan are the rich, healthy, cute, entrepreneur. Is this not manipulation? They have 500 milions of euros yearly budget to promote the 'Yes' . So what about the 'No'? In normal countries, when a referendum is to be set, the time+budget of promoting the answers should be the same, don't? In Catalonia we are different. We use the money of all catalans just to promote the 'Yes', and to label the dissidents as 'Thieves', 'Settlers', 'Unionists', 'Fascists'... widely from the catalan public media (even from the same Media Director). Is this not manipulation and social engineering? Adolf Huxley explained very well in 'Brave New World': repiting same stupid and wrong statements long time when dreaming make people to believe them fiercely without hesitating. Indoctrination herd at all. These are the kind of referendums that loved Hitler (he came up 'democratically' with 99% of the votes).
Trust me, i don't have anything against people's right to vote freely whatever. But in a real free environment. We have no freedom in Catalonia to think whatever we want. We are wasting milions of euros yearly to publicy the 'Yes' and 0 for the 'No' through foundations, associations, purchasing the media and the education and harassing the dissidents removing them from the environment. They pay media groups as Godó to shape the public opinion, hiring 'prestigious' columnists, economists and preachers of this laic religión called nationalism. They have no problema to hide the economical problems we will face on case of independence: ousted from Euro, losing comercial superavit with rest of Spain (that now represents 50% of our GDP,etc). Thousands of employees from companies as La Caixa, Gas Natural,Abertis, that parasitize from a Spanish given markey, will be fired out, apart from thousands of SME will close activities. Is that the future we deserve?
